Martha (Robeson) Boardman, 71, formerly a resident of Pascagoula, Mississippi, died at her home in Shepherdstown, West Virginia on October 16, 2006.

She was the former Martha Richards Robeson of Merry Point, Newport News, Virginia, the daughter of Edward John Robeson, former U.S. Representative of the First District of Virginia, and retired Vice President of Personnel of the Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company, and Ruth Richards Robeson.

She graduated from Newport News High School in 1953, and earned a degree in American History from The College of William and Mary in June 1957.

She taught Sunday school for more than 30 years and led Bible studies for both women and youth for more than 20 years. In Shepherdstown, she devoted many hours to the ministries of Trinity Episcopal Church where she was a member, including the thrift shop, morning prayer leader, Bible study and the nursing home ministry.
