Gazette, The (Cedar Rapids-Iowa City, IA) - June 5, 2010
Deceased Name: Norma Jane Nacke Haack
of Mount Vernon passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the Mechanicsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Surviving Norma are two daughters, Maureen "Moe" (Marv) Butteris of Sunrise Beach, Mo., and Karin (John) Minniear of Mount Vernon; three grandchildren, Shannon Rottman, Alex Meyn and Kerry Butteris; and one precious great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Butteris.

Waiting for Norma in Heaven were her husband, Charles; parents: Frank and Theresia Nacke; three brothers; one sister; a son, Steve "Hawkeye" Haack; and her beautiful granddaughter, Kimberly Kay Butteris Shoesmith.

Mom loved caring for her home, her garden, bowling, and playing bingo. But most of all she loved the wonderful times she spent with her children, grandchildren and her great-granddaughter - plus her dogs! She also enjoyed the years working at Cornell College and the many friends she had there.

Norma and Charles will be laid to rest together in a graveside service at 11 a.m. Monday, June 7, at Lisbon Cemetery. They will be together again, just as they were during their 60-year union here on earth.

Memorials may be mailed to Chaplain and Spiritual Life Development office, 600 First St. W, Mount Vernon, IA 52314.
