He was born 8 March 1875 at Marietta to Dr. James and Mrs. Ellen Decker Taylor. He lived at Bridgeport and then Rayland in Belmont County. He had been a motorman for Wheeling Traction Co. and member of the Church of Christ. He was a widower, his wife, Grace Scott Taylor, having died nine years before he did.
Survivors were four daughters, Mrs. Robert Mooney of Rayland, Mrs. Edith Lockhart of Wellsville, Mrs. May Twyford of East Liverpool, Mrs. Van Stanley of Parkersburg; a son, Gordon Taylor of Belpre; a sister, Mrs. Maude Karl of Fort Lauderdale FL; three brothers, William, Carl and Thurman Taylor, all of Marietta, OH; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Services were at Howard H. Wilson Funeral Chapel at Bridgeport, Belmont County, with his grandson, Pastor Dallas Lockhart, officiating. Burial was in Belmont Memorial Park at St. Clairsville.
