LCpl US Marine Corps

He was one of seven US Marines who were killed when there was an explosion in the area where they were working in NV. He joined the Marines shortly after graduating in 2010 from Severna Park High School, MD. He had deployed twice to Afghanistan and once to Kuwait. He was in a weapons platoon that was scheduled to deploy in November to Afghanistan. After graduating from boot camp, he attended the School of Infantry and was stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC assigned to the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines. He deployed with the 1/9 to Afghanistan in May, 2011 and returned on Christmas Day 2011. Upon returning, he completed Advanced Mortarman Course. In September of 2012, he volunteered to deploy for a mission to Kuwait. He was most recently training at Mountain Warfare School in California and Hawthorne Army Depot in Nevada. Among his military awards and decorations were the Combat Action Ribbon; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Sea Service deployment ribbon; Afghanistan Campaign Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; National Defense Service Medal; and NATO ISAF Medal.

He was predeceased by a grandmother, Elizabeth Sprinkel. He was survived by his parents; his brother; his sister; his grandparents; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Barranco & Sons Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on Friday, March 29, 2013, at Unitarian Universalist Church of Annapolis, Annapolis, MD. Interment on Tuesday, April 2, 2013.

This burial site is for his individual remains. He is also included in the co-mingled remains burial in Section 60 Site 10464.
