Alfred Paul "Sonny" Dunmire, 74, of Bell, died Thursday (April 3, 1997) in his home. Born Feb. 17, 1923, in Avonmore, he lived in Bell the past 53 years. A 1940 Bell High School graduate, Mr. Dunmire was a molder for National Roll, Avonmore, for 29 years before retiring in 1976. He was a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Delmont, as a student of the Bible, and was a former Sunday school teacher and member of the church board. Mr. Dunmire enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and boating. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Magdalene A. Tatarko Dunmire; a son, Melvin P. Dunmire of Plum; three daughters, Linda L. Johnston of Edmon, Wilma A. Allshouse of Saltsburg and M. Carol Iams of Washington Township; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; four brothers, Melvin Ray and Leland Kay Dunmire, both of Saltsburg, Robert C. Dunmire of Florida and Kenneth Max Dunmire of Berlin Center, Ohio; and two sisters, Leota Comer of Brunswick Ohio, Lois Steele of Saltsburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred C. And Wilma G. Hauton Dunmire; and a brother, Donald Dunmire. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 701 Salt St., Saltsburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Saltsburg Baptist Church with the Rev. John Collins officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery, Avonmore.
