Lillian Aleene "Nannie" Brose, 82, died June 21, 2004, at Southwest Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 6, 1921, to Alfred Harmon and Hazel Irene (Lampman) Tucker in San Antonio, Texas.
She married C. E. "Humpy" Brose on Nov. 9, 1946, in Meade. He died in 1978.
She was a Certified Nurse Aide for Southwest Medical Center for 25 years. She also did specialty nursing for many Liberal residents. She and her husband co-owned Humpy's News Stand for 25 years.
She was a Life Member of the PTA, Liberal.
Survivors include one son-in-law, Tom Sturges, Clayton, N.M.; two daughters, Mary Sturges, Liberal, and Cindy VenJohn and husband, Pat, Ingalls; six grandchildren, Jason VenJohn, Keith VenJohn, Levi Sturges, Kandie Sturges, Marcy VenJohn and Stacie Freeman and husband Roy; and one great-grandchild, Areena Rae Freeman.
She is also preceded by her parents and one great-grandchild, Lilly Anna Sturges.
* Graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday in Liberal Cemetery with Pastor Rusty Callahan presiding.
Burial will be at Liberal Cemetery.
