Jewel Finch Cowley, 96, passed away March 9, 2005 in Oklahoma.

Jewel was born May 16, 1908 in Mertens, Texas the daughter of John and Hattie (Hughes) Finch.

She worked for Kimblingers Grocery and Dry Goods in Covington, and at Brinns Department Store and Swartz Department store both in Hillsboro.

Jewel also sat with people that needed assistance and had several people she saw about at the nursing home.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Covington.

Survivors include her son, Earl Cowley, Jr. of Odessa; three grandchildren, Gary Cowley of Denver City, Texas, Beverly Campbell of Marietta, OK, and Bobby Cowley of Midland, Texas; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
