George W Ploesser, age 61 of Bowling Green, passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Moore-Pike Nursing Home in Bowling Green. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Pastor Skip Merkel officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Thursday, at the funeral home.
He was born August 15, 1952 in Louisiana, MO, the son of George A and Evelyn C. Woodson Ploesser. He married Juanita Carroll in July of 1985. Survivors include his parents, George and Evelyn Ploesser of Bowling Green; son Ivan Johnson of Marshall; sisters Brenda Clayton and husband John of Frankford, Suzanna Green of Bowling Green; grandchildren Colten and Lance Johnson; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathy Royer and Diane Ploesser.
Mr. Ploesser grew up in Franford, attending school at Frankford school and later Bowling Green school. He lived in Bowling Green most of his life. He worked for Knight Equipment and All-Way Wire and Rope until he retired in 2012. He enjoyed lots of fishing and hunting. He was a hard worker and a friend to about everyone he met. He was Pentecostal by faith.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Garrison, Jeff Roland, Colten Johnson, Jason Garrison, David McCurdy and Ivan Johnson. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Lance Johnson.
Memorial may be made to the American Cancer Society.
