She graduated from Kramer High School in 1929. Louise married Elmer Saalfeld on July 22, 1932 in Lexington, Nebraska. The couple lived on a farm near Richland, Nebraska until 1972 when they moved to Columbus. Louise was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Columbus.
