Mr. Jerry Clay Gorham, age 78 of Joyce, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at his residence.
Born Wednesday, March 21, 1934 in Joyce, Louisiana, he was the son of the late Jake Gorham and the late Mandy McDavid Gorham. He was preceded in death by brothers, Mack Gorham, V. J. Gorham, Woody Gorham and James Gorham, and sisters, Doyle Lowery, Marie Sutton and Polly Bearden.
Mr. Gorham served his country in the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Joyce Harlan Gorham of Joyce, son, Joe Buck Gorham of Joyce, LA, daughter, Mandy Cloud and husband Jay of Winnfield, LA, sister, Jewel Myers of Olla, LA, grandchildren, Dustin Clay Gorham, Casey Gorham, Cody Morgan, Daniel Barlow, and Adam Cruz, great-grandchildren, Angela Barlow, Natalie Barlow, and Dylan Barlow, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Old Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Lamar Carpenter and Rev. Tommy Hollis officiating. Interment will follow in Old Union Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Pallbearers will be Jody Gorham, Bill Harston, Huey McAllister, Delain Crain, Justin Beaubouef, and Ray Gorham.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 until service time Thursday at Old Union Baptist Church, Joyce, Louisiana.
