Kenneth Lanier Akins II, 17, of Shadburn Road, Cumming, died March 5, 2005, as the result of an automobile accident.
Kenneth attended 10th grade at North Forsyth High School, worked at Kroger grocery store on Highway 306, Cumming, and studied and played his guitar. He was a likable young man with many friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Ross C. Akins; and his uncle, Winfred C. Akins.

Survivors include his parents, Kenneth Lanier and Shelia Dale Akins of Cumming; sister, Kayla Akins of Cumming; maternal grandparents, Glennis and J.W. Dale of Gainesville; paternal grandmother, Minnie W. Akins of Oakwood; uncle, Eddie Dale of Gainesville; aunts, Trudy Dale of Alabama, Melba Mason of Oakwood, and Sybil Akins of Cumming; and several cousins
