DONALD W. BATESON SR. of Gladwin passed away Monday, May 14, 2007 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Gladwin.

Don was born June 9, 1919 in Bowling Green, Ohio to William and Gladys (Grimm) Bateson. He married the former Mary Petrasio on May 6, 1979 in Grove City, Ohio.

Don worked in the oil fields in Gladwin, Pentwater & Ohio. Don retired from Dow Chemical as an engraver in 1974. He was a member of the Gladwin Eagles & loved to hunt & fish.

Surviving are his wife, Mary; two sons, Donald (Coral) Bateson Jr. of Pentwater and Orville (Nancy) Bateson of Gaines; one daughter, Patricia (Marvin) Frye of Gladwin; one step-daughter, Rosemarie (Ed) Ervin of Lancaster, Ohio; two step-sons, Lawrence (Janet) McCann, Jr. of Grove Port, Ohio and Lewis (Charlene) McCann, Sr. of Florida; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Donald is predeceased by 3 brothers & 2 sisters.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17, 2007 at Sisson Funeral Home. Rev. Donald Roberts will officiate. Burial will be in Midland Memorial Gardens in Sanford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Wed.
