Ana Cordova, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 25, 2005. She was born in Dawson on Oct. 7, 1926. She was know as a Dawson historian who was very fond and proud of Dawson.

Ana was preceded in death by her parents Roman and Ana Cleta Cordova; her brothers and sisters Margarito (Maggie) Cordova, Lena Romero, Virginia Hernandez, Beatrice Cordova, Mary Chavez, Ernest Cordova, Pete Cordova, Celia Gutierrez and Lawrence Cordova.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Elvira Cordova; nieces and nephews Raymond Gutierrez, Cynthia Gutierrez, Carmen Gutierrez and Ron Gutierrez whom she helped raise while living in California. Ana is also survived by four generation of nieces and nephews whom she held very dear to her heart. She will be greatly missed by all.

All services were held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Albuquerque March 2, beginning with visitations, followed by the Rosary recited by Orlinda Castellano and her neighborhood prayer group, and then funeral services. Burial followed at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Leon Cordova, Vincent Cordova, Ronnie Gutierrez, Adan Carriaga, Ted Cordova and Dan C de Baca. Honorary pallbearers were Mary Johnson, Francis Rivera, Candelario and Orlinda Castellano, Carmen and Cynthia Gutierrez and all of her loving nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Valle del Norte and the University Hospital TSU, for the care and respect that they showed to Ana and also to Richard and Stella Cordova, Lorraine Cordova Carriaga, and to the Palomino family for all their help while Anna was sick.

Services were in the care of Garcia Mortuary of Albuquerque.
