Marian "Ruth" Howell, 77, passed away September 20, 2012 in Lubbock, TX. Ruth was born on December 27, 1934 in Cost, TX to her loving parents William Frederick Eggert and Mary Ann Hancock Eggert. She married Melvin Eugene Howell on March 28, 1959. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Bill Eggert, and her sisters Johnnie Lee Eggert, Wanda Dale Eggert, Margaret Cowan and Lillian Fraser. She is survived with her daughter, Suzie Smith of Lubbock, her brothers Bud Eggert and wife Donna of Austin, TX, John Amos Eggert of Oakland, CA and sisters, Joyce Jones of Gonzales, TX, Doris Janota of Austin, TX and Peggy Collier and husband Bobby of Kingston, TN. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, dear friends, loving family, as well as a large church family. Along with her husband and daughter, Ruth attended Rocky Creek Community Church for many years. She worked at Charles' Motel in Johnson City, TX for many years until her retirement. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her daughter and her family, traveling, and collecting cook books which lead to her enjoying cooking. She also enjoyed reading and going to church as often as she could. She attended Quaker Ave Church of God in Lubbock, TX where she had many friends.
