DAVENPORT — Services for William T. Schultz, 69, of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport, with military services by Vietnam Veterans of America Post 299.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Mr. Schultz died Thursday, Nov. 12, 1998, in Springfield, Ill.

He retired in October 1986 as an equipment specialist with the U.S. Army Weapons Command.

He was born Aug. 23, 1929, in Davenport, to John L. and Amelia V. (Cavanaugh) Schultz. He married L. Nadine Jackson on Jan. 7, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

He was a graduate of St. Ambrose Academy, Davenport.

He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Pallbearers Club, Third Degree Knights of Columbus 532 and Fourth Degree Member of Knights of Columbus Loras General Assembly.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War. He served three years in the Air Force and three years in the Marine Corps. He retired in 1989 from the Seabees Naval Reserve.

He also was an active volunteer for the Kahl Home for the Aged, Davenport, and the Carmelite Monastery, Eldridge, Iowa.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Building Fund.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Dean Halsey, Riverdale, Iowa; a son and daughter-in-law, Vaughn "Wolf" and Kathleen Schultz, Tempe, Ariz.; grandchildren, Brandon, Shanna, Dean Jr., James and Rebekah; sisters, Judy Janney, Rosaria Brooks and Cozie Dias, all of Davenport; and a brother, John L. Schultz Jr., Davenport.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary K. Schultz, on Feb. 22, 1960; a son, Greg T. Schultz, on Sept. 5, 1994; and sisters, Ann Lacey and Mary Schultz.
