Lifetime Resident Of City Was One Of Last Blacksmiths Here.
William Francis Musselman, 79, a lifetime Ottumwan, died at his home, 338 Lincoln Ave. at 5 PM Friday. He was born in Ottumwa, September 12, 1857, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas, Dominacher Musselman. Nicholas D. Musselman was an early editor of the Courier. Mr. Musselman was a blacksmith by trade, until two years ago operating a shop on the south side, one of the last such businesses of the city. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ella Musselman; five daughters, Mrs. Grace Smith of Ottumwa, Mrs. Edna Mahoney of Chicago, Mrs. Laura Oberhaus of Aurora, Illinois, Mrs. Inex Cromer of Stafford, Texas and Mrs. Millard Chamberlain of Batavia, and 14 grandchildren. Two sons, Frank and Ronald preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday in Daggett funeral Chapel. Burial be made in Ottumwa cemetery.
