Buck was born February 24, 1914 in Newell, Iowa, to
Charles and Julia (Smith) Allison. He lived most of his life in the
Newell, Marathon, and Storm Lake area. Buck went to elementary school in Newell and joined the Navy in 1941 serving on the
USS Minneapolis in the Pacific till discharge in 1945. Buck and Marian Christensen were married May 14,1945 at the US Navy Chapel, Bremmerton, Washington. To this union were born threedaughters, Barbara (Bobbie), Patricia (Patty) and Kayla.
Cliff worked most of his life as a custodian for the Newell
School system and the Buena Vista College. He was most proud
for receiving an award for saving "Old Glory" from the fire at Old
Main Hall. He retired in 1975.
Buck was a member of the United Methodist Church,
Newell, Iowa and the Newell American Legion Post #193 and
the Elks Lodge #1636, Storm Lake.
Cliff was united in marriage to Roberta Doyen, September
17,1988. They made their home in Newell and wintered in Mesa,Arizona.
His many hobbies included fishing, baseball, golf, gardening,antiquating, dancing and traveling with Roberta.
Buck was proceeded in death by his parents, wife Marian,
brother Wayne and 4 sisters, Marian, Ellen, Lucille and Lenore.
He leaves to mourn his passing Roberta, daughters: Bobbie &
Terry Anderson, Patty & Don Sievers, Kayla & Michael Steffens,
6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, stepson Robert & Barbara Doyen, step daughter Marilyn & Paul Monson, 4 step
grandchildren and 1 step great grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
