Martha Emily Porter
PORTER, Martha Emily Passed away on October 25, 2008 at the age of 97. She was formerly Martha Emily Washington. A Nashville native she graduated from Ward Belmont and Vanderbilt University where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. A member of the Junior League, The Centennial Club and a Charter Member of the Westminister Presbyterian Church. She was a long time employee of Tidwell & Associates Consulting Engineers until her retirement. She was married for over 50 years to W.E. "Slim" Porter who preceded her in death. Martha is survived by her son, William E. Porter, Jr.; daughter, Lanier Siewertsen; five grandchildren, Barbara Gayle Brown, William E. Porter III, James Daniel Porter, Chris Siewertsen and Emily Siewertsen Hill; seven great granchildren. Pallbearers will be William E. Porter III, James Daniel Porter, Steve Brown, Chris Siewertsen, William E. Porter IV and Peyton Porter. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 1 p.m. by Rev. Carson Salyer at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3900 West End Avenue with visitation on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at BRENTWOOD-ROESCH-PATTON FUNERAL HOME, 9010 Church Street East, Brentwood, TN, (615) 373-3040
