She attended school in Pittsburg, California where she graduated in 1974. She was baptized and united with First Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. W. S. Woods. She was later accepted at Barbizon Modeling Agency in San Francisco, California. She united in marriage in 1994 to Vincent Brown Sr.. They later relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2004.
"Nae" as she was called by her family was employed as a bank teller and a care giver. She was creative and gifted, In fact, she was instrumental in naming all of her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed make-up, hairstyling, music, dancing, cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She was always the life of the party!
She was preceded in death by her mother Inez Lawson "Grammie" Lawson; father, Ardell Lawson, Sr. "Bubba" zLawson, Sr.; and son Terrance Davis, Jr.
Velda leaves to cherish her precious memory, a loving and devoted husband, one son, two daughters, one stepson, two sisters: five brothers: five nephews, ten great-nephews, five nieces, five great-nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
