Flavius "Slim" Palmer, 80, died Thursday, April 28, 2005, at Landmark Care Center. He was born January 2, 1925, to Katherine (Herter) and Flavius M. Palmer in Golconda, Illinois.
After serving his country as a sailor during WWII he joined the Carpenter's Local Union #770 where he was a member for 60 years. During this time he served the Central Labor Council, Apprenticeship Committee, taught apprenticeship classes, was recording secretary, business agent and served on numerous committees. He was a frequent convention delegate and was president of the Local for many years.
