Funeral service for Mary Jo (Jarvis) McGhee, 76, was held at 10 A.M. Thursday, July 8, 2004 at the Church of Christ in Petrolia, Texas with Mike Priddy of Byers officiating and Eldon Dean assisting. Burial was in the Hopewell Cemetery in Montague County under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.

Mrs. McGhee died Tuesday, July 6, 2004 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

She was born September 28, 1927 to Lewis Richard and Lois Ann (Brown) Jarvis in Gould, Oklahoma. She married Lewis McGhee January 28, 1944 in Bowie, Texas. She was a homemaker and a seamstress. She was preceded on death by her husband October 24, 2000.

Survivors include two sons, Lynn McGhee and Richard McGhee of Byers, Texas; two daughters, Kathy Taylor of San Angelo, Texas and Ruth Ann Nichols of Byers, Texas; two sisters, Jerri Downing of Davis, Oklahoma and Wilma Sinclair of Mount Ida, Arkansas; one brother, Clem Brooks Jarvis of Chandler, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
