Buried here are the three youngest beloved children of William Henry and Dolcie A. (Wallace) Guess that died of diphtheria within a three day period In June 1905. Lorry Pearl age 10 yrs, Sadie Arcane, age 7 years, Ruben Levi, age 2 years 8 mos. They were the first to be buried on this bare and lonely site not far from home. Now known as Cienega Cemetery, family history tells us that after coming home from burying their precious children. Dolcie's overwhelming grief drove her running from home back towards her babies graves. She could not give them up. A cowboy family friend that was there at the time overtook her on horseback roped her and kindly returned her home. This stone placed here in 2006 by the Guess descendants and the two surviving Robert (Bob) Guess daughters Bobbie and Jean in loving memory of our family members who died before they had a chance to sing their song.
