Raleigh - Mildred Partin Honeycutt, 80, passed away Thursday after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Born and raised in Angier, she was the daughter of the late Yancy and Mary Cobb Partin.

Mrs. Honeycutt was active in St. John's Baptist Church, The Senior Club at Jenkins Memorial UMC and The American Legion Auxiliary. She was Girl's State President for more than 25 years. Every Memorial Day weekend for many years, she distributed poppies in front of the K & W Cafeteria in Cameron Village.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Bryan Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. Burial will follow at Harnett Devotional Gardens, Dunn, NC.

Survivors include daughters, Beverly Smith Coats of Fuquay and Cindy Smith Allen and husband, Willie of Clayton; grandsons, Adam and Matthew Coats and Clint Allen; sisters, Nelda Byrd and Elma Wall, both of Raleigh; brother Willard Partin of Sanford, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Reba Webb and Janice Butler; brothers, Leo, Alonzo and Clayburn Partin.

The family would like to thank the doctors of Cancer Center of NC and the staff of Rex Hospital for their care and support and her many friends for support during her illness.
