Roger H. Frederick, 69, of 265 New Ludlow Road, Fairview, died Tuesday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. He was a 34-year filter operator for Monsanto Corp. in Indian Orchard, and retired in 1986. Born here, he was a 24-year Hampden resident before returning seven years ago. He was a communicant of St. Anne's Church, and a member of the 25-Year Club at Monsanto. He leaves his wife, the former Claire M. Talbot; three sons, Christopher J. of Springfield, Kevin R. of Westfield, and Matthew A. of Hampden; two daughters, Diane G. Solberg of Appomattox, Va., and Geralyn Brown of Ware; his mother, Rena (Richott) Frederick of Holyoke; six brothers, Norman and Alfred of Chicopee, Rene of Aldenville, Eugene and Kenneth of Springfield, and Robert of Wilbraham; two sisters, Doris Ouimette of Wilbraham, and Lorette Robinson of Natick; 10 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. The funeral is Saturday morning at Phaneuf-Blais Fairview Funeral Chapels and the church, with buiral in St. Rose Cemetery at South Hadley. Calling hours are Friday afternoon and evening, and memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, West Springfield.
