Arlene Taylor 89, a resident of Irving for 57 years, died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at her home. Born June 29, 1923 in Ringsted, Iowa, she was the daughter of J. O. Pederson and Martha Jacobson Pederson. She married Jay L. Taylor December 21, 1945 in Los Angeles, California. She owned and operated Arlene's Bernina Sewing Center for 17 years and was a member of Irving Baptist Fellowship. Preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Jay L. Taylor, September 1, 2010 and by two brothers and five sisters, she is survived by three daughters, Karen Owens and husband Owen of Grapevine, Teresa Mulkey and husband David of Frisco, and Debbie Brantley of Irving; two grandsons, Jayson Owens and Ryan Owens, both of Grapevine; and loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel. Rev. David Fortenberry will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving. The family gives special thanks to the staff of Elmcroft Assisted Living of Irving for their loving care for their mother.
