Amelia Barnhouse, 85, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2006, in Houston, Texas. She was born on February 26, 1921, in Eunice, Louisiana to Gustavo and Beatrice Clements. Mrs. Barnhouse was a devoted wife and mother. Amelia was a charter member of the Park Temple Baptist Church. She also served for many years with Houston Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Barnhouse was preceded in death by her husband of over 30 years, Frank "Barney" Barnhouse and her step-daughter, Francis Horn. She is survived by her sons, Frank T. Barnhouse and his wife, Gail and James Henry Barnhouse and his wife, Judy; sisters, Myrtle Rowell and Vivian Walker; grandchildren, Charles Barhouse, Bridgette Stinnitt, Tammie Handy, Jason Barnhouse and his wife, Roxann, Opel Fults and her husband, Charles and Alison Barnhouse; eight great-grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends.

The family received friends on Thursday, March 30, 2006, at Heights Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on Friday, March 31, 2006, at Park Temple Baptist Church in Houston. Interment followed at Hollywood Cemetery.
