He was a member of First Baptist Church. , Survivors include his daughter Valarie Abbott Reed of Kansas City, Mo.; son: Douglas Lee Abbott, Jr. of Indianola; sisters: Pat Abbott Ellis of Jackson, Ala., Elizabeth Abbott Klutts of Lebanon, Ohio; half-sister, Lois Abbott Deyarmond of Knoxville, Tenn.; father Bennett E. Abbott of Indianola; 1 granddaughter. Services were January 6 at Card Funeral Home with burial at Indianola City Cemetery. Card Funeral Home of Indianola was in charge of arrangements.
