Atilana "Tillie" C. DeHerrera, age 90, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2007.
Mrs. DeHerrera was born on November 23, 1916 to Francisco and Eloisa Gurulé of La Jara, NM. Atilana was a General Service Administrator for the United States Government.
Mrs. DeHerrera will be remembered for her being a loving mother and grandmother, someone who loved music and a person who made many friends and never had an enemy. Mrs. DeHerrera was a very giving person who found ways to help any person who needed it.
Atilana is survived by her children, Barbara Smith, Helen Westbrook, Lawrence DeHerrera, Christine DeHerrera and Theresa DeHerrera, all of Albuquerque and Clifford DeHerrera and his wife, Lauren, and Jerry DeHerrera, of Phoenix, AZ, 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great-grandchildren, siblings, Nellie Salas, Sister Rosalie Gurulé, Emma Rodríguez, Frank Gurulé and Albert Gurulé.
Atilana was preceded in death by her husband, Raquel DeHerrera in 1958.
A viewing and visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. The Rosary will be recited on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Daniels Family Funeral Services, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE. The Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 27, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona St. SE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
