Mary Elizabeth Rutter Bleacher, 76, of York, PA, passed away on Friday afternoon at Manor Care Kingston Court, York, PA. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Harry Paul and Margaret Zahm Rutter. Mary was the wife of Joseph E. Bleacher; together they celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on September 25th.
Mary was a 1957 graduate of Penn State, and retired from Union Memorial Hospital as an Administrative Clerk in the Finance Department after 26 years. She was a member of First Reformed Church, Lancaster, and was an avid reader and Penn State football fan.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by her husband Joseph, her sons: David, husband of Jo Bleacher and Stephen Bleacher both of Baltimore, MD; Bill Bleacher of Mount Wolf, PA, and a granddaughter Aimee Bleacher of Shippensburg, PA. Her brother, Harry Paul Rutter, Jr., preceded her in death.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Life Celebration Service at the Funeral Home of Fred F. Groff Inc., 234 W. Orange St., Lancaster, PA on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 12:30PM. Interment will be held at Conestoga Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Fred F.
