Mrs. Ellen Eva Goodhue, 65, of East Waterboro, died unexpectedly Monday at an Alfred orchard storage house where she was employed part-time.

She was born at Berwick February 2, 1907, daughter of Frank and Hila Pinkham Guptill, and had resided at East Waterboro the past 31 years, going there from Berwick.

Mrs. Goodhue had been employed as a shoe stitcher in area shoe shops prior to retiring recently. She was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church at East Waterboro.

Surviving are her husband, Richard Goodhue; four sons, Richard Goodhue Jr. of Limerick, Donald of Edison, IL, Clayton of Kingston, NH, and Gordon of Atkinson, NH; two daughters, Mrs. Natalie Glover of Saugerties, NY, and Mrs. Judith Taylor of Sterling Park, VA; a brother, Robert Guptill of Florida; and 20 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at the East Waterboro Free Will Baptist Church. Pastor Carlton Mains will officiate. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterboro. Arrangements are in charge of Carll-Heald Funeral Home, 61 Main Street, Springvale.
