Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. (CST) at the Griffith funeral home for Mr. Harry Birkhofer, 67, who died at 12:35 p.m. Monday after a lengthy illness at the Wilton nursing home. He was a farmer near Moscow.
The Rev. Robert Farr will be in charge of the services. Interment will be at Oakdale cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born Jan. 22, 1895, he was the son of Fred and Mary Artz Birkofer. He was born at Moscow and was a lifetime resident of the community.
He married Emma Pahl Feb. 21, 1931, in Muscatine. He was a member or Masonic Lodge 167 A.F. & A.M. of Wilton.
Survivors include a son Lyle of Moscow, step-daughter, Mrs. Richard (Marjorie) Fulton, Whitten, Ia.; three brothers, John and Arthur of Moscow and Edward of Muscatine; sister, Mrs. Norton (Ethel) Lake of Moscow, and five step-grandchildren.
Preceding in death were his parents and two sisters.
