Mrs. James Adams
Mrs. Sarah Adams of Jeremiah, Ky., passed quietly from this life at her home on Tuesday morning, Oct. 15, 1946, suffering a stroke of paralysis. In July she fell and broke her hip. At the time of her passing she had recovered from this accident and seemed to be gaining strength. Her passing was a sad shock to her family and friends. She was the daughter of David and Nancy Dixon Back and was born on Sept. 27, 1877, being 69 years 18 days of age at time of her death. She was married to James Adams and to this happy union was born 12 children, one deceased. Her husband and the following sons and daughters survive her: Bill, Steve, Herman, David, Fred, Charlie, and John of Jeremiah, Ky., Mrs. Julia Hampton of Williamstown, Ky., Mrs. Hattie Ison of Isom, Ky., and Mrs. Sinda Adams and Mrs. Mary Ann Breeding of Jeremiah, Ky., "Mother" Adams, as she was known to her children, grand-children, neighbors and friends, was a fine Christian, wife, mother and friend. She professed her hope in Christ over 15 years ago. Her church preference was the Regular Baptist. Her passing leaves a vacant spot in the home and hearts of her loved ones that can never be filled. Funeral services were held at the Home at Jeremiah, Ky., on Wed., Oct. 16th, 1946 at 10:00 A.M., with Elders G. Bennett Adams and Dewey Hampton, officiating. Burial in the Family Cemetery at Jeremiah, Craft Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements.
