ROCK ISLAND - Michael T. Attwood, 62, of Rock Island, died Thursday, November 29, 2012, at his home. Services for Mr. Attwood will be 10 a.m. Friday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Calvary Mausoleum, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the family.
Mike was born on March 24, 1950, in Rock Island, a son of Fredrick and Stella (Simmons) Attwood. He married Laura Roesner on June 14, 1991, in Rock Island. Mike had worked as the detail manager at Highland Toyota, Moline, before his retirement. He was a member of the Good Guys Rod and Custom Association. Mike had a passion for cars and never met one he didn't like. He also enjoyed attending car cruises.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; children, Michael (Stacie) Attwood, Coal Valley, Christine (Danny) Scott, Kirksville, Mo., April (Daniel) Hughes, Columbia, S.C., Vickie (Todd) Hartman, Hartford, Wis., and Shelly Roesner, Moline; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Thomas Daxon, Moline, and Fred Attwood, Rock Island; a sister, Patt Rudd, Maquoketa, Iowa; and his dog, "Moose."
It was Mike's wish that everyone attending his services please wear causal attire.
