Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 22, 2012, suddenly and unexpectedly, Carlie Thompson Orton passed away. A kinder more caring soul cannot be found. Carlie was born July 21, 1931, in Parowan, Utah, to Frank and Glenna Thompson and grew up in Milford, Utah. Her mother passed away when Carlie was at a young age and she had to help a lot in raising her two younger sisters, Connie and Shanna. Later her father remarried. Madge brought two beautiful daughters of her own into the family, Pat and Betty. Oct. 8, 1947 Carlie married Paul T. Orton. They had three children, Dennis, Valerie and Kathy. Carlie devoted her entire life to caring for her family. Carlie is survived by her children, Dennis (Erlene) of Utah, Valerie Springer of Nevada, and Kathy Huebner of Nevada; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Connie Mower of Texas, Pat (Jim) Deavers of North Carolina, and Betty (Blake) Hyatt of Utah. Carlie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Glenna; stepmom, Madge; husband Paul; brother Calvin; and sister, Shanna Ericson. Her kind heart, gracious smile and caring personality will forever be missed. To know her was to love her. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway.
