"AGER--Funeral services for the late Wilson Ager will be held at the chapel of Edward Holman & Son, 3d and Salmon sts., Thursday, Jan. 24, at 2:30 P. M. Interment Mt. Scott cemetery."

Wilson Ager enlisted in the Civil War, 19 October 1863. On 29 October 1863, he was in Company F, Ohio 12th Cavalry Regiment. He entered as a Private, was promoted to Full Corporal and then to Full Sergeant 1 Sept. 1865. He was mustered out 14 November 1865 in Nashville, Tennessee.

The newspaper information regarding the death of Wilson and his wife, Eliza, didn't list any of their children. But the funeral notice for their son, Charles Herbert Ager, who died in Portland, Oregon, 13 November 1862, listed his siblings as Jessie Broms, Maude Shaver, Walter and Raymond Ager.

Other children found listed in census records were Agusta [also called Gertrude and Gerty], William [believed to also be known as Adam], Clyde, and Mildred. In the 1875 State Census for Little Rock, Nobles County, Minnesota, there were two children, Herbert age 9, and Hubert age 2, both born in Ohio. In the 1880 census for Nobles County Minnesota, only listed one son named Herbert, age 7, born in Illinois. He is listed again in 1895 in Noble County, Minnesota, as Herbert, age 22 born in Illinois. One of the two boys listed in 1875, Herbert and Hubert, may have died before 1880. In the 1900 census for Nobles County, Minnesota, showed Eliza had given birth to 11 children, but only 10 children were still living.

In 1850, Medina County, Ohio, Wilson Agar was age 5, born in Ohio, living in the household of Thomas and Clarissa Agar. His siblings were Fanny E. age 3, and Mary age 10 months. In 1860, the family was in Medina County, Ohio. The children were listed as Wilson age 15, Elizabeth age 13, Mary age 11, and William H. age 6, all born in Ohio. Thomas' wife was listed as Sarah A. Ager, age 30 born in Ohio.

In 1870, Wilson Ager, age 27, farmer, is listed in Congress Township, Wayne County, Ohio with his wife, Eliza, age 26 born in Ohio, and two children, Agusta age 3 and William age 1.

Find A Grave member Peggy babbs (#46603677), found information in a marriage record book that showed a marriage between Wilson W. Agar and Eliza Weiler on 15 November 1866.

Between 1870 and 1875, Wilson moved his family from Ohio to Minnesota, with a stop in Illinois. The 1880 and 1895 Minnesota census records show one child born in Illinois.

Wilson Ager's wife, Eliza Ann, died 26 February 1919 in Portland, Oregon.

In 1920, Wilson Ager was living in Portland, Oregon. He is listed as age 74, Head of household, born in Ohio. His son, Harold, Harold's wife, Hazel, and their children, are living with Wilson.

In most of the census records, Wilson is listed with an occupation of Farmer. In 1900, he is listed as a hog raiser. In the 1910 census, Wilson's middle initial was listed as "W".
