She was the daughter of James Luther and Bertha Ida (Fanning) Hayes and married Wilson Ashby 23 Mar 1940 - Moore Co., Tennessee. Her obituary follows"

Mrs. Radie Beatrice Hayes Ashby, , 62, of Oak Grove community, wife of Woodrow Ashby, died Sunday in Huntsville Hospital, following an extended illness.

She was formerly employed by Lannom Mfg. Co. in Tullahoma.

A Lincoln County native, she was the daughter of Luther and Bertha Fanning Hayes. She was born January 17, 1920.

She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home were followed by services Tuesday afternoon at Champ Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lincoln County. The Rev. Raymond Broyles and the Rev. Robert Hall officiated. Burial was in Champ Cemetery.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Mrs. Pat Jackson and Miss Melinda Ashby, both of Decherd; five sons, Charles Ashby, Roy Ashby, and Bob Ashby, all of Tullahoma, Danny Ashby, Manchester, and Tony Ashby, Dyersburg; a sister, Mrs. Marvin Walker, Taft; a brother, Woodrow Hayes, Belvidere; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
