Funeral services for Mary L. Carter have been scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Michael Barron will officiate assisted by Pastor Emeritus Rev. Dr. Donald Roulet and Rev. Tom Litteer. Burial will follow in Park Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.
Mary Lynn Carter was born on July 10, 1944 in Charleston, West Virginia the daughter of Marvin and Nell (Sizemore) Boggs.
Mary died on Thursday, November 22, 2012 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was 68 years of age.
Mary was a 1962 Graduate of Bartlesville College High. She attended N.E.O. Tahlequah for 1 year. The former Miss Mary L. Boggs was married to Richard Carter on July 10, 1964 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The couple moved to Broken Arrow in 1974. For 30 years Mary was the church secretary at First Presbyterian Church in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She loved writing, her church, and computer bridge. She was a commissioned lay minister in the Presbyterian church. Mary was involved with Broken Arrow Neighbors. Memorials may be made to Broken Arrow Neighbors or the American Cancer Society.
