BROWNSVILLE, Ky.- Ethel Cora Alford, 100, died at 1:10 PM Nov. 19, 2012 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville.

The Georgia native was a homemaker and a member of Rowan Street Church of Christ. She was a daughter of the late
Marion Hughel Nixon and Elizabeth Belle Yones Nixon and the wife of the late Earl Ernest Alford. She was preceded in death by a son, James, Earl Jr. and Robert Alford.

Funeral will be at 1 PM Friday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial in New Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 AM Friday at the funeral home.

Surviving are three daughters, Gladys Patterson and Juanita Lawrence (Billy) both of Louisville and Flossie Jones of Leitchfield; six sons, Roy Alford (Carol), Stoy Alford (Myrtle) and Ray Alford (Anna) all of Louisville, Melvin Alford (Brenda) of Sellersburg, IN, Roger Alford (Jocelyn) of Leitchfield and Larry Alford (Bonnie) of Charleston, SC; a brother, Leland Nixon of Louisville; two sisters, Lela Belle Strickland and Roberta Whebley both of Florida; 36 grandchildren; 82 great grandchildren; and 71 great great grandchildren.
