They moved to California in early 1925 and my father, Francis L. Whaley, was born in April of that year. My grandparents divorced when my Dad was very young and my grandmother married Lester Gideon. Papa Gideon and my grandmother raised my Dad. Papa Gideon died unexpectedly of a heart attack in 1958.
