Born at Zittlestown, he was the son of the late Fred and Zella Poffenberger Brown.
He was a member of the Calvary Temple of Williamsport and was employed by the Consolidated Janitorial Service, Inc.
Besides his wife, he is survived by son, Donald E. Brown at home; a step-daughter, Mrs. Peggy Smith, Hagerstown; 3 step-sons, Charles E. Garlock, Leitersburg; George W. Garlock, Hagerstown; and Robert L. Garlock, at home; 7 grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Margare Domer, Halfway, and Mrs. Florida Mason, Hagerstown; half-sister, Mrs. Pearl Brinkly, Jefferson and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be in the Bast Funeral Home, Boonsboro, Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Vernon Miles officiating.
Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday.
