Phebe Osborne was botn near Danbury, Connecticut, Feb 19, 1821. Her first husband was Russel Wood, by whom she had fourd children. Two of these, Russell and Harriet, died in Connecticut; Mary, who survives her, and Charles who was drowned in Rock Riverm cane with her to Illinois in 1855. After the death of Mr Wood she married Harvey Sherwood, who also died in Connecticut. The Second time a widow, she, with her two children, her father, mother and other relatives moved to Illinois in 1855.
She lived in Guilford and Seward, until 1857, when she married Daniel Aiken, with whom she lived on their farm three and one-half miles south of Rockford until his demise, May 18, 1893. Since that time she had spent much of her with her daughter, Mrs M W Crosby, in Rockford. Mrs Henry Hall in a granddaughter.
Mrs Aiken was remarkably vigorous for one of her years. Her cheerfulness and spirit of helpfulness endeared her to a large circle of friends.
The funeral services were held today at 3 o'clock from the residence, 710 Jefferson street.
