He was born May 7, 1931, in Whitley County, Ky., the son of the late James and
Sue Rebecca McKeehan Smith. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr.
Smith was the former postmaster for Dreyfus Post Office and employee of Blue
Grass Hardware. Mr. Smith was a member of the Viney Fork Baptist Church and had
been a deacon in the Bethlehem Baptist Church. He enjoyed tinkering with cars
and refinishing antique furniture.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 7 2007, at Combs,
Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Richmond. Burial will follow
in the Madison County Memorial Gardens.
