He was born May 20, 1929, at Liebenthal, the son of Joseph and Barbara Obloy (sic) Depperschmidt.
A lifetime Rush County resident, he was a farmer and worked for the railroad for 15 years. He belonged to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Liebenthal.
Survivors include: mother; two brothers, Clarence, Larned, and Leo, Garden City; and six sisters, Lillian Dinges and Edna Augustine, both of Ellis, Helen McLaughlin, La Mesa, Calif., and Dorothy Bittel, Mary Ann Brandt and Angela Bittel, all of La Crosse.
He was preceded in death by his father, three brothers and a sister.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Liebenthal, with Fathers Benjamin Martin and Eugene Kenny presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the church or to the Good Samaritan Center, Ellis, both in care of Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse.
