|First Kinsley Cemetery|
This is the first established cemetery for Kinsley and Edwards County. Over 125 people are known to be buried here. They were the early pioneers of the area. Only a few gravestones remain today. All burial records for this cemetery were lost in a fire in 1929.
This cemetery was discontinued in 1886 because the owner of the property, A.L. Kendall, failed to give clear title for the .5 acres. Hillside Cemetery was then established. About two dozen graves were moved from here to Hillside. Many graves could not be moved because the interred had died of typhoid fever.
The North Edwards County Cemetery District has maintained this cemetery since 1960.
