IN 1903 HENERY CLAY INGRAM MOVED TO HOUSTON COUNTY FROM GEORGIA AND BOUGHT 179 ACERS SURROUNDING THE REFUGE CEMETERY, THEN ONE ACRE LARGE, DONATED BY JIM (JAMES M.)BROWN IN 1889, HE ENLARGED THE CEMETERY AND BUILT A TABERNACLE THERE AND PREACHED THERE, HE WAS A PRIMITIVE BAPTIST PREACHER AND LATER ON WALTER INGRAM(WHO HAD A SAWMILL JUST BELOW THE CEMETERY) DONATED SOME MORE LAND FOR THE CEMETERY.Transcribed by Letty Harrington -Granddaughter of Henry Clay Ingram
