|Heather Rodebush||Villa Louis Fears|
What a treasured multigenerational photograph! Villa was my great grandmother. My grandmother, Katherine (Lyon) Nichols was the daughter of Villa (Fears) Lyon and Albert Lyon. Seriously seeing this photograph of so many people together just made my day. Thank you so very much.
|Steven Brown||RE: Goldie Thelma (Brown) Lance|
Thank you. Goldie was my great aunt (my grandfather, Ralph Brown, was her oldest brother). As such, I'm mainly interested in the Brown family history, but also in Goldie's children. I knew her daughter Shirley (Lance) Curless and visited with her several times over the last few years, but her other children were really unknown to me.
Do you know Gretchen Gahagan? She and Shirley were cousins on the Lance side (I'm not sure how) and she is a friend of mine.

Goldie's father, Sam J. Brown (aka John Samuel Brown) was not born in Tn (although his father Isaac Decatur Brown was), Sam was born in Reynolds County Missouri.
Goldie's mother Olive May (Medley) Brown Lauck (27325688) did die in 1961 and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery (N. of Galena, Ks)next to her first husband Sam Brown. Olive was my great grandmother.
Goldie's youngest sister Jewell Juanita (Brown)Lauck (mother and daughter married/remarried father and son)died in 2007 (104441149).
Harley also died more than 20 years ago (I THINK), but I don't know where he is buried... probably somewhere in Crawford County... maybe Mt. Olive.
I also think that all of Goldie's children are now deceased. I think there were three... the youngest, Shirley (Lance) Curless passed away last fall. Can't remember other daughter Virginia's married name (maybe can find it if you want it)also think there was a son (name maybe John Lance, not sure).

A belated thank you for adding this photo to his site.
|Sue R.||Ollie M. Medley Brown(e)|
Do you know if Ollie M. Medley Brown(e) is the mother of Goldie Thelma Browne Lance? Ollie is my great aunt and I have been looking for her grave for a long time. I think she died Nov. 21, 1961 in Pittsburg, KS. Can you verify? Also did she use the "e" at the end of Brown?
I have an old picture that is supposed to be of Ollie's children.

Are you related to the Straights? I am related to John's sister, Sarah E. Do you know where their Mother is, Lydia Robbins? Is she living with John in the 1850 census, and did she get remarried, to a Briggs? We are having trouble finding the other two siblings, Lydia and Samuel. Do you know where they are? Please email me. I loved your picture of John and Lydia. I can share one with you of Sarah Straight.

Wow for years I was under the impression that this Roswell died in CT. And never could find his grave site there. Never gave it a though that he was buried in same state as one of his sons. Thanks for this info...ps. this family had a long line of "ROSWELLS"
