Bio

I have been doing genealogy research since the early 1970's....in the dark ages before computers!

My father's and husband's families are of French & German ancestry ending up in the river parishes above New Orleans. I grew up with St.Peter's Cemetery in Reserve as my back yard where we have many relatives buried.

My mother's paternal families (Jones, Moreland, Yates, Richardson) ended up in Texas from points east. My mother's maternal families (Durr, Dykes, Megason) ended up in North Louisiana and Texas. See www.doubledurr.com for information on the Durr family of North Louisiana.

PLEASE NOTE: I am only as accurate as the information I have amassed over the past 45+ years from personal research, personal interviews, bible records, courthouses, published genealogy & historical quarterlies, books on various areas and family histories, and shared genealogy research. As I have entered this information into my computer database, I have tried to verify the above mentioned information with its original source or a secondary source, especially if the author did not have source notes, but in many cases a second source is not available...i.e. death before that state's records start. When a person's information varies from a church record, I will use the church information...i.e. tombstone says born 1857, baptism says born 1855 & baptized 1856. Any information found in genealogies on Ancestry.com, Geni, Family Search, & other such research web sites are not entered into my database until I have found and proved the sources. I will gladly compare source information when there is a question. I also will gladly correct obvious typos.
