The Grand Prairie Genealogical Society is an Educational and Cultural organization whose purpose is the fostering of education in genealogical research, encouraging new interest in research and compiling, collecting and encouraging the preservation of research materials.

Several members of GPGS volunteered to record and photograph tombstones in Grand Prairie, Texas beginning in 2010. The Society has their information on www.gpgstx.org under Cemetery Records. You can also find death notifications on our website under Area Deaths. Take a look at the website.

The board voted to also put the information on Find A Grave. A lot of the information we gathered has already been entered by contributors other than our Society. We are pleased to add pictures and information to Grand Prairie cemeteries.

Please be aware that Southland Cemetery is surrounded on the north, east and west side by the Southland Memorial Park Cemetery. Some of the entries already posted on Southland Cemetery really belong in Southland Memorial Park Cemetery.
