My Norwegian heritage, during the 19th century and today, can be found in and around the Benton County area in Iowa. These brave pioneers immigrated to the United States from the Karmoy, Rogaland farms of Norway seeking a new life for their loved ones.|
I am researching all family members related to the Longfield (paternal) and Nelson (maternal) lines of my tree. I welcome others, searching for information, to contact me. Simply leave me a message.
For kjaerlighet til familien,

I accepted your changes. I tried to unlink the marriage to Joseph Boddicker but it didn't happen from my page and so I don't have the option to do that. Have you contacted the person who put up Joseph Boddicker's memorial? They need to unlink his marriage to Wihelmine.

You are so welcome. Glad I could help.
|Dorie||RE: Bert Galiger edits|
I've had that happen to me as well with some death certificates. I would guess that they initially intended to have him interred at East Fox Lake - likely in the family plot. They may have changed their plans while the body was in the process of being transported back to Illinois, perhaps due to Lauretta's condition. It is a very sad story. I'm guessing you have the/a newspaper article regarding the events and services.
I did go to Ascension and photograph both markers and add them to your memorials. They aren't the best pictures but many of the markers in that part of the cemetery have sunk into the ground (even the more recent ones from the last few years) and the grass was rather long today. Perhaps they'll be more easy to read after the grass is mowed.

|Dorie||Bert Galiger edits|
I received the edits for connected Bert Galiger (152849449) to his parents Bert and Lauretta Galiger. I have researched it and am happy to process the edits. However, in researching it, I found some one inconsistency in your listing for the father Bert Galiger.
You have listed Bert Galiger (179494208) as being buried in East Fox Lake Cemetery. However, he is buried beside is wife in Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville. I contacted the office at Ascension to find their location and they confirmed that he was interred at Ascension several days before his wife. I went there this afternoon and found their markers - there is a marker for Bert and another one for Lauretta at Ascension. They are next to each other (I can add the photos to the memorials).
I have an article from the Independent Register regarding their accident and burial. At the end it says "Burial at Ascension" (although it was not completely clear from the article if it was referring to one or both). You may have already have the article, but I can type it and send it via the edit button if you want.
Once the cemetery location for Bert has been changed to the correct cemetery, I will be happy to process the edits!

Please change the father for Robert Gerhart 178944107. The wife is incorrectly listed as his wife and father. Thank you for your time.

|Sandy Vandertol||RE: Mary Bloom|
Thanks for the obit. There are so many people who are legally blind who are trying to do their own genealogy with the help of the machines that read the info for them, but nothing in the photo box is available for them. I think that is why Find A Grave is making obits be transcribed so that info is not lost for that group of people. If you are a relative of Mary Bloom, I'm happy to pass her on to you.
|Sandy Vandertol||Death notices in photo area|
Posting death notices in the photo area is against the rules of Find a Grave and the admin. is removing all that they find. Obits must be typed out in the bio box.
From working with photos in the rules: (what kinds of photos may be added -)
No screen shots from other websites.
No obituary photographs.
No scans of obituaries or newspaper articles.
No photos taken from any website, including Find A Grave!!!

So happy I could help! Wow, 2x's great grandparents!! I don't know if you've ever been to Forest Lawn Glendale, but it's quite a beautiful cemetery.
