RE: Deborah Sue Buchanan #71815924
I knew her name was familiar. I first met Linda when I started teaching back in August of 1972. She was the high school guidance secretary. After she left that job, I would see her occasionally and would speak to her from time to time when calling to put my place on "vacation check' with the police department. I'm sorry to hear that she has passed. She was a really nice person.

Let me know when you get her memorial created. I'd like to see it. Then, if you need help in linking Deborah to Linda, let me know. Once you see how it's done, you'll find it very easy to make links and send updates you have for other family members you might find on the site.

Yes, you may certainly add me as a friend. I already added you as one of mine. I hope that is okay with you.

The name Linda Buchanan sounds so familiar to me. Did she work for a time as a dispatcher for the Cedar Lake Police Department in Cedar Lake, Indiana?

If your Linda Buchanan does not yet have a memorial on Find A Grave (a search for the name Linda Buchanan produces 51 existing memorials), you could create one for her and specify that she was cremated. You would click "Add Burial Records" and then click "Family and Friends" on the left. [Do not use "Family and Friends (old)" on the right]. At the bottom of the Family and Friends form, choose "Other" and proceed to complete the memorial. Once Linda has a memorial, her daughter can be linked to her.

Later, if her ashes are buried at the German Methodist Episcopal Cemetery, you can edit her memorial to show her burial there.

I hope this helps. I learned a lot from an experienced Find A Grave contributor when I first started on the site and I'll be glad to help you in any way I can. Just ask whenever you need to.

Michelle -- Welcome to Find A Grave! If, by "my new page", you are asking to use Deborah's gravestone photo as the photo for your own Find A Grave profile page, please feel free to do so. If I have misunderstood, please let me know.

As you are a brand new member, I would encourage you to click the "Help with Find A Grave" link, if you have not already done so, as it provides the guidelines members are to follow for the site. I would also encourage you to read other contributor's profiles when you view the memorials they manage. It is a good way to get to know the persons who contribute to the site and what rules they want followed, if any. Clicking the "Discussion Forums" and reading the "General: Help with Find A Grave" can also be very helpful. You need not register for the Forums to read them. I'll be glad to answer any questions you may have about Find A Grave, too.

Does her mother have a memorial on Find A Grave? If so, they could be linked. -- Indiana Bill
